Beyond Burlesque CIC exists to support burlesque performers based in the United Kingdom by removing the financial barriers that prevent them from participating in international festivals and events.

Burlesque is a vibrant and growing performance art form with a rich cultural history. However, the costs associated with international travel, accommodation, and attendance at festivals are often prohibitive, particularly for amateur, emerging, and independent performers who do not have access to institutional funding or commercial backing. Financial hardship further compounds this inequality, meaning that many talented performers — regardless of their experience level — are excluded from international opportunities simply because of their economic circumstances. This limits opportunities for professional development, artistic exchange, and international visibility for UK-based performers at all levels.

Beyond Burlesque CIC addresses this by administering a grant and sponsorship fund open to burlesque performers of all experience levels who are based in the United Kingdom. In recognising that financial hardship creates additional barriers to participation, the company is committed to prioritising access for low income performers in its grant programme. Grants are awarded to support any reasonable costs associated with attending international burlesque festivals and events, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, festival entry fees, and related expenses.
